Doctor Joseph Mosquera is committed to health
care reform in medical education and
public awareness, thru the field of
integrative medicine.
Born in the Galicia region of Spain, Dr. Mosquera immigrated to Newark, New
Jersey with his parents as a child where he grew up in a culturally diverse city
environment.
Following his education and training at Rutgers Medical School,
Hackensack Medical Center, and Board Certification in Internal Medicine he
returned to practice for over twenty years in the Newark community he was
raised.
Dr. Mosquera is Clinical Director of Integrative Medicine at St Michaels
Medical Center in Newark NJ and Clinical Instructor with UMDNJ teaching "The
Art of Medicine" to first and second year Medical Students. Dr Mosquera became a leading figure in
providing optimal healthcare and
prevention awareness to his community,
often volunteering his services.
His
extensive training includes the
University of Arizona Medical School's
Program of Integrative Medicine,
Completion and Certification in
Hypnotherapy with the New York Society
of Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Columbia
University Botanical Courses, and the
study of Traditional Chinese Medicine
and Japanese Acupuncture at Harvard
Medical School.
In addition he has been dedicated to the ongoing
education and teaching of young doctors and medical
students from the local hospitals he serves.
Dr. Mosquera communicates fluently in Spanish and
Portuguese dialects with many
of his patients, which has greatly increased compliance and awareness amongst
them.
His mission was and continues to focus upon the health and healing of
patients in addition to the diagnosis and treatment of disease, taking into
account the whole person including mind, body, spirit, and lifestyle. |
